We’re proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of two incredible individuals from the Genesis Health + Fitness network who were recognised as finalists in the 2025 Franchise Industry Awards, hosted by the Franchise Council of Australia.

John Pirlo was named a finalist for the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to Franchising award. John’s journey in franchising has been shaped by a deep commitment to health, fitness, and the promotion of active lifestyles. As a force behind Genesis Health + Fitness Clubs in NSW, John has continually led with purpose and passion. He credits much of his success to his willingness to listen—whether it’s to the voices of his community, loyal members, or fellow franchisees. This ability to absorb feedback and adapt has helped him not only grow a brand but elevate the entire health and fitness franchise industry.

Damien Spann, owner of Genesis Health + Fitness Redlynch, was honoured as a finalist in the Franchisee of the Year – Single Unit category. This recognition reflects Damien’s unwavering commitment to his team, his members, and the Redlynch community. He sees this nomination as a testament to the passion and effort poured into creating a space where members feel seen, supported, and inspired. In his words, “We’re proud to be part of our members’ journeys—just as they’ve become an important part of ours.”
